Nishi Sharma

Nishi holds an M.A. in Drawing & Painting, and over the years has developed a strong contemporary style of art using mixed media on paper and canvas. She believes in the ineffable relationship between God and nature – incredible yet unknown; apparent yet obscure; understood yet impossible to fathom. These thoughts ceaselessly inspire her to create her art.

Equally intriguing to her are the shades of nature, fluid and dynamic; startling and wondrous. This is perhaps why in the great Indian heartland, nature is revered and considered divine, almost as an expression of God’s own emotions.

The fabric of human life, the endless flow of water, changing hues of the sky, shifting seasons, day and night, all these events occur unhindered. This endless cycle and their myriad interpretations evoke emotions that surface on the canvas when Nishi starts painting, gradually revealing the mystical allure of nature.

While her style is predominantly abstract, it is not restrictive. A trait which allows her to create paintings that imbue themselves with viewer’s perceptions, adding multiple dimensions to her artwork.

Nishi has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions across India and collectors actively continue to seek out her artwork. Below is a brief summary of some of her more recent and prominent shows.
